- If you're a person that has lived on the east coast mostly all of your life.. and thought that California was the land of sunshine and beautiful people.. (thanks to the countless tv shows depicting Orange County) well, you're only half right.. it's not the case up here in North California. And this is how i'm experiencing it.

New POLO shirt

I saw this in the June 18th TIME magazine and I have to admit, its pretty niceee. Its called the 'POLO Match Shirt'. What's up with the general polo logos and symbols today? Didn't EXPRESSmen uplifted their 'royal lion' logo into a larger on their polos? As a matter of fact, I recently bought one just like that from EXPRESSmen. It was on sale too. Oh yeah bitches.

Acrata's Oyster Fest

Today was the Oyster Fest in Arcata. (did you know that there's a town law that was passed a while ago that stopped corporate businesses to not come into the town anymore?) they still have some businesses like Bank of America that opened before that law was passed.

Welcome to hippie-ville.

Anyways.. I went with jeff and his co-workers.. We mainly just walked around the vendors selling food and types of oysters, like grilled, fried, raw, etc.. I had a fried prawn sushi roll. I love it. I've had it before when I went to Roy's in Orange County. It was cloudy that morning.. But the sun came out later, thanks to the gusty wind.

We all went to Healthsport gym afterwards and played my first racquetball game. Its actually pretty fun, I was good at it, since I made a bunch of points and I used to play tennis..

Yeah. And I didn't eat any oysters. Yuck.

Eleven '7-Eleven' stores become Kwik-E-Marts to sponsor The Simpsons movie!

As part of The Simpsons Movie’s marketing efforts and promotions, the convenience store chain 7-11 proposed a plan to change eleven of their 4700 stores into Kwik-E-Mart imitations, which would even feature and sell Simpsons products such as Buzz Cola, Slurpees served in Squishee cups and Krusty’o cereals.

Kwik-E-Mart, a fictional chain of convenience stores on the animated series The Simpsons, is owned by the Indian American fictional character Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. Over the years, viewers have watched various story lines that have taken place on the highly priced convenience store. Even though the items are quite pricey, Homer and the gang consistently drop by and patronize the said store. Now, avid Simpsons fans can enjoy edible Simpsons commodities in an accessible and convenient manner.

Other promotional strategy of The Simpsons: The Movie is the hosting of a contest which would determine in which Springfield city The Simpsons: The Movie will premiere in.

The much-awaited Simpsons movie is scheduled to open in the United States in July. Meanwhile, avid fans can catch the whacky family every Sunday at 8/7c on FOX.

"Sunset Beach #2"

"Chillin' in Myrtle Beach"

"Ocean Blvd During Senior Week #1"

"Ocean Blvd During Senior Week #2"

"Don't you know that you're Toxic?"

(hahaha.. a random dance video i happened to spontaneously record at that time..)

WTF is a Lotus doing here?

Yeah, I was a bit surprised today to see a Lotus car parked near starbucks. I thought to myself, the reason why its here is because the owner probably lived down in south cali and couldn't handle the traffic and couldn't handle the car. I thought it was funny how it parked right in front of some fucked up pickup truck. I admire the car, one of the reasons why people buy them for.. But to bring it in this small hippie town is just for some cheap ego-boost.

There's another "Washed-Up" californian for ya.

Panhandlers are IDIOTS.

I saw this Eurekan walking to our car. We immediately closed & locked our doors. She came up to our window and we just shooooed her away. She's going to every person walking in the parkinglot. The employees at Staples said she's been doing that for 6 months telling the same story. Her family died and she needs money to travel. Yeah. Totally working out for ya. Get a job you meth-head.

"TAR-BUCKS"

I'm in Target. At the "licenced starbucks". I'm on unfamiliar and very bad territorty. There's one barista working and it seems she doesn't even know what she's doing. She couldn't even repeat the woman's order, as the woman gave weird glances at what the barista was doing while making drinks.. There's a long line of people waiting and a few are leaving. Probably going to a REAL starbucks. Good choice..

Another drug bust. How typical..

After picking up jeff from work. Its 1:30 late at night. It's so quiet that you can hear the ocean (and any type of loud noises.. Such as drunken fights between couples out in front of their houses, the loud 'vrooming' exhaust/tailpipe sounds of cheap cars as they go 20mph down the streets, etc..). We drove down old town Eureka on hwy 101 and passed by a police car with 2 sheriffs, a suspect handcuffed and laying on the trunk of the policecar. There was a black Scion tc, I think, with the trunk open and clear plastic wrapping paper (or saran wrap however you spell it) literally everywhere. You can tell that the cops checked for everything. I thought the cops in this town were leniant on the 420 and drugs.. But after seeing that tonight. I'm glad they're doing their jobs..

I'm allergic to this place..

*cough* *cough*
i knew something was wrong the moment i got off the plane when i arrived back in Humboldt County here in North California. my coughing started. my throat wasn't irritated at ALL during my trip in North Carolina.

now i'm back here, and my coughing is really bad. i don't know if it's bronchitis. my tonsils aren't swollen. it's just that whenever i breathe (apparently i must do this to live..), i cough. then another cough. repeated coughs until i lose my breath.

i can't live off of HALLS Fruit Breezers forever.. although, i've been eating them like candy for the past few weeks.

i'm allergic to Eureka. i was told that it might be the pollen, the mold, the paper/pulp mill (that spews out white clouds [maybe toxic vapors?] from it's towering smokestack near the Samoa Beach area). i'm not allergic to anything. *knocks on wood* But being here has made me sick very often. unusually more than usual. Jeff has been sick at least 5x. and i rarely get sick. the last time i was sick was probably more than a year ago since i've moved here to Eureka.

Do you think that people here are dying? I suppose. Slowly dying.. the stores are closing and moving down. i saw an auto dealership that used to be full of cars suddenly abandoned (like who can afford nice cars here? everyone has 'dinged up and fucked up' looking cars).

hopefully there will be a chance for me & jeff to move outta here right after this summer. i hope. i seriously can't take it.

a day or so ago, a regular came in and we started talking about how i ended up living here from North Carolina. i get this question SOOOO MANY times. it's not fuckin' funny. and of course, i can't tell strangers something like this: "well, to be honest with you.. my boyfriend was hired for job here and i happened to come along because we are obviously in a relationship". Well, that's pretty awkward to tell someone. I'm out, but i'm not like FLAMING out. i don't play that homie. i still act professional, whether you know that i'm gay or not. Anyways, i usually tell them that he's my roommate who got a job here and i 'spontaneously' wanted to experience California since i've never been here before. that's partially true.

well, i lost track of what i was writing about. i'm taking a break (again) just to type this. sipping on a cup of orange juice, and that's soothing my throat. i haven't coughed since i've started typing this entry. so that's cool.

that's it for now.. i really don't want to spend my entire summer dealing with classes. i'm starting to feel like i should just temporarily stop my online classes at NC State for this Fall. until i resume classes again ON campus and in a REAL classroom, where i can fall asleep in class.. haha. I'm also thinking about transferring to a new college once i move somewhere different back on the east coast.. maybe in Miami? i wish. i really don't know. i can only hope..

CHANEL Cruise 2007/08 Fashion Show

..and to think, you thought that fashion shows involved a runway walking to 'point A' and back to 'point B'. well, this show was definitely in the runway category.. at the Santa Monica Airport in Los Angeles.. haha.

On a break again..

I really like the pic of me slightly smiling above. Its cute :)

I'm on a 10 min break. Sippin' on a dulce de leche frapp again. Not a light, heh. Way to ruin a great workout after going to the gym huh? Lmao.

There's nothing interesting going on now that I'm back here in California. I did have sooo much to talk or write about during my NC trip though, as you can tell from my multiple posts from last week..

Break's over. g2g.
