- If you're a person that has lived on the east coast mostly all of your life.. and thought that California was the land of sunshine and beautiful people.. (thanks to the countless tv shows depicting Orange County) well, you're only half right.. it's not the case up here in North California. And this is how i'm experiencing it.

It's really hard to adjust..

From eating whatever and whenever you want.. with friends all around you.. the beautiful and warm waters and locations you see & feel.. and the dancing at the nightclub till 3 in the morning..

wow.

.. and now it's back to reality. to what is 'normal'. but in my case.. back to 'abnormal'. haha.

it's hard to look around and not see the large circular windows overlooking the deck and the ocean as the cruise ship glides in the waters.

i'm still adjusting to being in a room without your body rocking to the boat. it's funny to me. how just standing still in a room and you feel like your still in the boat. my body and mind still needs to adjust. i guess you can call it disorientation.

at least i'm finally sleeping on my own comfy bed & pillows. my teddy bear missed me. my cabin was small. probably about the same size as my bathroom. it had 2 single beds and we freaked out the first day because we didn't realize that 2 more single beds folded out from the ceiling.

i definitely missed starbucks. it's like cigarettes to me. i gotta have one each day. it's my caffeine that i need to make it thru the day.

i guess im just spitting out random things to talk about huh?

my body was actually pretty good during the times i went out swimming on the pool deck. i could've walked around with just shorts and flipflops. it was nice. i had a body. and that's a major plus after seeing a lot of people that were slightly overweight or carrying some extra baggage.

omg. what is wrong with white people? or caucasians or whatever. it's a fucking cruise!! you gotta let yourself live a little! who cares that me and my friends are causing a commotion, running around the ship, laughing our asses off at everything we do, getting drunk every night, and dancing like sluts on the dance floor. me and my crew were sitting in our VIP section and during the Captain's reception, which he bought all of the drinks for those that attended, there was this old middle-aged woman that continuously kept turning around and looking at my friends as we drank and laughed while the captain and his crew were talking. I know it was a bit rude, but hey, all you need to do is ignore us and mind your own business. that's the reason why we were sitting in the secluded rear of the room in our own VIP section. it's a cruise!! the only thing you can do is have fun!

i heard around the ship that there were a bunch of people saying it was the worst cruise ever. and i was like thinking to myself.. "wtf? how could you not like this ship?" i assumed that the majority of those that had a bad experience were white people. caucasians. blah. whichever. i wish i could go up to them and tell them how sick i was. i threw up. and from having that 'hot body temperature while you feel like your freezing' feeling and coughing continuously due to allergies or an irritated throat. give me a fucking break. like if you're complaining about something serious, i can imagine what your going thru. but if you're complaining about other stupid minor things.. then you're just stupid and you should be thrown overboard. enjoy the vacation. don't complain about it.

going on this cruise was my chance to get away from it all. and i did. i loved every second of it. im so glad to meet so many different people on the ship. and the crew members! OMG they are sooooo cool. like Damian, the housekeeper. YO-YO!!! Marc, the cruise director.. Bing-Bong! Tony from India who would love to scrape your crumbs off of your table. hahaha. Nirajh the head waiter.. just like Mirage, now you see me.. not you don't. But I'm still here!! hahaha... and John Travolta from Jamaica. hahahahahah. he will show you his sexy dance for you. ahhahahahahah.

there were so much things to do. it was crazy. i wish i could write about everything.. but i probably have forgotten some of the minor things already.

aside from being sick since day one, i did manage to get cough drops from George Town in Grand Cayman. i went thru a pack a day. haha.

the reason why i was on this cruise is because my family was invited as guests to a nursing school reunion. it's always good to know people.. hehe. i made so many friends and also got to know people better that i've known for a while.

i'm filipino, if you haven't realized it. and yes, i am proud that i do not fit the asian stereotype. the interesting thing about the Enchantment of the Seas ship is that there are about 62 different nationalities of the crew members. it states their nation on their name tags. of course they're going to be crew members that are filipino too and they DEFINITELY hooked us up with lots of stuff. one of them was a photographer that continuously took photos of passengers of the ship where all of the photos can be developed and placed on a wall of certain events. you can purchase each of the photos for $20 each. sounds expensive huh? well, it is if you aren't a filipino. the filipino photographer hooked my parents up with ALL of the photos during the trip (that's about like 10-15 photos) for about $34. Hellz yeah! the regular cost of that would've been $200-$300. that's the difference between white people and filipinos. filipinos are always friendly with each other whenever they pass randomly on the streets of new york or something. you can point out a filipino by the way they look. There are not alot of nationalities in the world that can do that. so yeah. it's pretty good to be a minority at times.

well.. enough of this for now.. i'll update some more stuff when i remember them. and i finally uploaded some photos of the cruise on my myspace page. if you look below this entry, videos i recorded during the cruise..

i really love cruises. i HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. definitely book a vacation on Royal Caribbean on the Enchantment of the Seas ship. the people there will totally blow your mind!!

Cruise videos are finally up!

This is a playlist of 9 videos that i recorded during my vacation on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas ship during June 23rd - June 28th of 2007.

No communication throughout the Royal Caribbean Cruise!!!

[a quick summary of my week-long trip]

(old post from yesterday that didn't send.. still having problems with sending email on my treo)

(did you know that i typed the entire blog post below on my treo cellphone? .. i'd like to see you try doing that on a regular cellphone's alpha-numeric keypad.. haha)

Well I'm finally back. Not yet. I'm still here in LAX waiting for my
flight which isn't for another hour or so to board..

I was fucking relieved to see a terminal starbucks near my terminal. I
had to get a frapp. I didn't have any starbucks on the ship. *sips his
venti dulce de leche frapp* ahh... That's some good shit right there.

Anyways.. So I bet your wondering how my cruise went? Well, let's say
I didn't want it to end AT ALL!!!! I had the BEST FUCKING TIME EVER!!!
That definitely had to be my most enjoyable and favorite vacation of
my life. Why? Because of the (literally) many friends that I knew and
new ones I made there (including the ship crew members.. LOL).

Did you know I was sick the ENTIRE time. Since day 1, when we were
still docked on port. I walked to the back of the ship and didn't
realize the smoke blowing on the deck (due to the wind) from the smoke
exhaust. And so, I began coughing a lot. I coughed enough to throw
up. It was disgusting. I had to run to the bathroom to throw up even
more. I accidentally projectile vomited on the wall near the toilet in
a private bathroom. Hehe. I missed. It sucked. I somehow tried to
close my mouth when I coughed but vomit went to my nasal passage. So
there was snot and bits of food from lunch coming out from both my
nose and mouth. Sickening right? It gets better. I tried to blow my
nose and a HUGE piece of 'something' came out my nose. It was a big
piece of bread that I remember taking a bite of. Lol. At first I was
like. Omg is that my brain?! Yeah.

Later that night I felt so sick, I wasn't sure if I could make the
trip. I had that feeling where your body temp was really hot, but you
feel like your freezing. That sucked even more. That lasted for 3
days. My coughing is still continuing. Not as worse than before..
Since I finally have some cough drops handy. I didn't have any till
the 5th day when I bought 3 packs in George Town in Grand Cayman.

I was continuously hanging around people that smoked. At our 'spot'
and at the Viking Crown dance lounge. (did you know I danced like a
freak EVERY NIGHT at the ship's nightclub? Hahah) we'd get there at
like 11pm and leave at around 2:30am. I've been going to sleep at
around 3-4am every night.

I hanged out with my friends Marah and Valerie. We went EVERYWHERE
around the ship. Many ppl thought Val and I were in a relationship.
Heh. No. She's my dance partner. We had to admit that we were the
hottest ppl on the ship. There weren't that many hotties. Guys and
girls alike. There were a few, but we'd get tired of them.

Hmm.. What else to talk about.. Well, ill be uploading the millions of
photos and the videos I recorded on the ship, Jamaica & Grand Cayman.
I have lots of awesome photos.

Ok ok.. To sum things up:
-I rode on Royal Caribbean's 'Enchantment Of The Seas'.
-There was FREE food on the ship.
-I drank (actually took sips) of cocktails, martinis, & various other drinks.
-I was part of the 'wilder' group of Filipino teens that got drunk,
danced like sluts, took millions of photos, and traveled in a huge
pack around the ship.. We all definitely caused a commotion on the
ship. Hehe..
-I threw up about 3-4 times.
-I took a shower 4x (2 of them were in the same day) during the cruise.
-I spent a total of $15 on cruise's casino.. ($5 limit each day)
Interestingly named Casino Royale. I didn't win any payouts. Heh.
-Spent a total of $29 on rings and a cocktail drink in a glass that lit up.
-I bought $5 on a turtle souvenier in Jamaica.
-I got a free $100-valued 1-carat Midnight Sapphire in Jamaica for
attending a seminar on the ship.
-My group took a tourbus trip around places in Jamaica and shopped for
souvenirs.
-I bought (i think) $12 on a necklace and a keychain in Grand Cayman.
-I snorkeled with stingrays and got to hold one of them, snorkeled
with the tropical fishes in coral reefs & shopped for nicer stuff in
Grand Cayman.
-I popped 4 advil liquidgels (2 in the morning and 2 before bed) for
about 3-4 days.
-It was 50¢ a minute to use the wi-fi on the ship.
-It was $7.95 a minute to call anyone on the ship's phonelines
(regardless that I had a calling card).. Wtf.
-Attempts to exercise in the gym: 1, but left since it was packed with
people. Haha.
-Total weight I gained on this trip still needs to be determined.

Hmm.. What else to include.. I think that's about it for now.. Time
to upload those pics & vids!

Bing-Bong!

I have to wait at least 5 hours at the airport.. Ugh..

(sorry about this post.. It couldn't send when I was in florida for
some reason.. But its finally up now. I just didn't want to skip
around with what I did. Anyways... Read it!)

At least they gave me a snackbox on the flight.. I got here just
before daybreak.

I had about 2 hours of sleep on the flight.. And I had to fall asleep
listening to Abercrombie & Fitch songs because a few rows behind me,
there was a church choir singing at like 1AM. Omg. Shut the fuck up
you ppl!! A baby crying is tolerable, but two people singing out
loud?? Ommgg. Are you two drunk from those little bottles of vodka?
Haha..

Anyways.. I'm here now.. Waiting outside by the ticketing counters
because I had to get my bag. I could've been at my terminals where the
nicer seats are, but I don't think they'd allow me back in. And not to
mention the VERY LONG line for security. Fuck that.

I'm sitting next to seats with the nearest electrical outlet is about
15-20 feet away from me. Shit. I can relax on a cushion or plug my
laptop while sitting on the floor against the wall. Crap. I need to
recharge my treo too.

I'm trying to sip on a Dunkin' Donuts latte. It was fuckin' a good
190°F. I had a donut too. Hehe :P

I have a friend living down here, Nick, and I asked him a few weeks
ago to pick me up because my parents don't arrive till 5-6 hours after
I arrive. But I figured he couldn't, he sent me a message on facebook
that I need to reply to. Lol. Seriously, who would want to pick me up
at the airport at like 6 fuckin' AM? Haha.. I can deal. I'm a big
boy.

Oh.. Did I mention that wi-fi on the cruise ship isn't free? A damn
50¢ each min? Or I can get a wireless card for $10 a day.. But aren't
cruise vacations supposed to "get away from it all"?

I just only hope there's cellphone coverage. Heh.

4 hours and 30 mins left..

stay tuned..

dealing with some technical glitches and phone coverage problems with my treo phone.. i have 2 big blogposts that i need to post asap! one is a big summary of my Royal Caribbean cruise trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and George Town, Grand Cayman.

photos and videos will be posted soon! so keep an eye on that ;)
